Employment Experiences

Respondents were asked a series of questions about their employment experiences before and after they received benefits.

Employment Status

Respondents were asked if they had ever been employed or self-employed before they started collecting benefits. About two thirds (67%) of the respondents indicated they had worked before they started collecting benefits. Table 6 displays specific responses.

To better understand the employment experiences of all respondents, whether employed or not, respondents were asked if they had ever worked for more than 30 days in one position since they started receiving benefits. Sixteen percent of respondents (N=34) indicated “yes.” Table 9 displays specific responses.
