Unemployed Respondents

Respondents who indicated they had not worked before receiving benefits were asked what they were doing instead. Four categories of fixed responses were offered in addition to “none of the above” and “other.” Categories were not mutually exclusive and respondents could provide more than one answer. For analysis purposes “none of the above” and “other” were combined. Respondents did not provide a description for “other.” The largest percentage of respondents indicated they were parenting.
