Other Medical Conditions

In addition to their primary disability respondents were asked to provide information about whether they experienced psychiatric disabilities. Forty percent of respondents (N=91) reported they had a psychiatric disability. Respondents were also asked to provide information about physical disabilities other than their primary disability. Seventy percent of respondents (N=159) indicated they experienced a physical disability. Finally, respondents were asked, “in addition to your primary disability, have you been diagnosed with or experienced any other medical conditions, impairments, or disabilities?” Forty-four percent of respondents (N=99) specified a medical condition, impairment, or disability.

Other Comments

Respondents were asked an open ended question “Is there anything else you would like to tell us?” One hundred and ten individuals provided a comment and nine of these comments consisted of individuals who were stating that they did not have anything else to add. The comments were analyzed and grouped by themes. Comment themes were:
