Unemployed Respondents
Respondents who were not employed were asked about the length of time they had been unemployed prior to participating on the Working Disabled Medicaid Buy-In program. Five categories were offered as fixed responses. Forty percent of the respondents indicated they had not worked for 2 years or less. The Table below displays specific responses.

Respondents who indicated they were not employed prior to participation in the program were asked about what they did instead. Respondents who indicated they were not employed after participation in the program were asked the same question. Four categories of fixed responses were offered in addition to “none of the above” and “other.” Categories were not mutually exclusive and respondents could provide more than one answer. For analysis purposes “none of the above” and “other” were combined. Before participating in the program, a larger proportion of respondents were looking for work or going to school/training program than after participation. The Table below displays specific responses.
