Correlations with work expectations and preferences
Age, gender, level of education and health were not related to respondents' expectations to work for pay or get a better job within the next year. No positive or significant correlations could be found between the flexible work arrangements in Table 7 and the respondents’ expectations to work or find a better job in the next 12 months. However, a significant negative correlation appeared between the expectation to work next year and job sharing, a part-time workweek, and a reduced workweek. A more flexible work schedule and flex-time, or variable start and end hours, were not motivating factors for those either currently working or expecting to work for pay within the next year.
