Approximately 61% of respondents indicate having never married or are divorced, while 28% are married or have a significant other. When respondents indicating never married or divorced are combined with those reporting being widowed or separated, it is possible that over 66% of the respondents appear to be without significant companionship. The survey did not ask about significant friendships or current living arrangements, inferences about quality of life based on marital status alone are necessarily suspect.
