III. Procedures

The Division of Senior and Disability Services (DSDS) disseminated 708 introduction letters and surveys to individuals with disabilities between the ages of 18-60 years old who received personal assistant services listed in a DSDS database. The letters and surveys were packaged by staff at the Center for Human Development and were delivered to DSDS, where mailing labels were affixed and the packets were disseminated. The introduction letter (See Appendix B), which described the purpose of the survey, was mailed on February 10, 2004. The survey and a postage-paid return envelope were mailed to all participants on February 17, 2004. Respondents mailed their completed surveys to the Center for Human Development, where the data was entered into an SPSS database and analyzed.
