If you receive benefits through the Adult Public Assistance program (APA), then we may be able to help you as you begin your job search. Alaska Works has three advocates ready to assist people with disabilities who receive public supports and are interested in going to work. The advocates, also called Disability Employment Specialists, can help you to access benefit planning services in addition to other employment supports. Our specialists will help you understand what will happen to your Social Security, Medicaid, and other benefits when you go to work or accept a new position. These staff are located in Juneau, Anchorage, and Fairbanks but can serve customers statewide. We can also support you in your efforts to access other services and begin your employment search. Our goal is your successful employment!
