Employment and Benefits Quiz

Alaska Works offers a variety of training for organizations, community members, people with disabilities and their families. Below is a listing of the training packages we currently offer. We are also available to put together training that fits your particular needs. Please contact us if you are interested.

Training and presentations available:

Employment Support Services - this is a 2 credit course offered through the Prince William Sound Community College through the Earn As You Learn program. For more information, check out the following link. This course covers all the components of Supported Employment Services.

An overview of Medicare Part D - we have been offering this training in partnership with the Social Security Administration in many communities. We are funded by the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services and also provide the training as needed.

Non-traditional and Long Term Support planning

Calendar of Events 2006/2007

Becoming an Approved Benefit Planner in the State of Alaska in 2007

First session: Anchorage - February 5-9, 2007 & Second Session: Anchorage - March 19-22, 2007 - final 8 hours of training will be provided as distance education.

Participants must participate in both sessions to be approved.

Registration Fee: $350 covers both sessions and materials for the full 80 hour course

Why attend:

This training session will prepare participants to provide training for the Social Security Administration’s WIPA Program as well as assistance in becoming a contractor for in-state programs including: Vocational Rehabilitation. This training is for individuals interested in learning how to provide benefit planning services to Alaskan beneficiaries.

This will be the only in-state training opportunity for this year.  Additional training can be obtained out of state.
