Anchorage Disability Resources

If you have a disability, you may need extra support to run your business. There are resources available to help you be successful in your business venture. The following resources are available in the Anchorage area to assist people with disabilities with both their self-employment and disability needs

It is important to develop a strong team to support you in life and in business. The groups listed below represent many aspects of life, and all want to help people reach their greatest potential. Supported Employment and Independent Living Services

Independent Employment Services

Independent providers are also available and provide supports to individuals on a one on one basis. These providers are often hired by the organizations above to provide services such as job development and job coaching. To access these services you will need to have a source of funds to purchase their services. The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) will purchase these services and they maintain a list of qualified providers.

Advocacy Organizations

One way to get involved and make a difference for yourself and other is to participate in an advocacy group. There are many groups available and each has its own focus. The following are a few of the groups in Anchorage.
